Dorgon lake

Lake Dörgön is located 1132 metres (3713,91 feet) above the sea level in the Great Lakes Depression, in the province of Khovd. It borders the provinces of Gobi-Altai and Zavkhan. It was formed during the prehistoric period ; it’s one of the few places dating from that period.

It extends on 24 kilometres (14,91 miles) long and 18 kilometres (11,19 miles) wide, it covers an area of 311 square kilometres (120 square miles). Its maximal depth is 27 metres (88,58 feet) and its volume of water is 4367 km3. Its salinity rate is 4%.
