Ger camps
Ger camps (or yurts) camps are the most comfortable option for your tours in steppes. They are hotels located in the countryside, and each yurt is a bedroom. You will find in the camp a restaurant serving Mongolian-inspired and Asian-inspired food, a bathroom with western style toilets, and showers. All the camps don’t offer the same service range, some are more luxury and some are more modest, but all are selected for a particular reason (comfort, premium situation, etc.). It is absolutely possible to make the entire tour only in yurts camps if you want to travel with a good comfort. Prices vary from 40 dollars to hundreds of dollars for the most luxury camps.
Nota: Mongolia in a new country in terms of tourism, and even if the comfort range of the yurts camps absolutely improved these last years, the service is not always up to it. Mongolians will always try to help you to find solutions, but some dishes written on the menu may be unavailable, the masseur may be abs
ent, the computer may not work, etc.
Nota: if you chose a tour including tent camping or nights in private homes, and if you want to exchange with yurts camps along the way, you will have to assume the additional cost and pay it on the spot.
